Cheesy Pizza Monkey Bread Recipe
Reading Time: 2 minutes
I DON’T KNOW ABOUT Y’ALL, but I sometimes need an easy fix for super with the option to take my time on the details. And that’s where this cheesy pizza monkey bread recipe comes in. As a single mom balancing farm chores, housework, work outside of home, and keeping up with three boys on the go, quick dinners sometimes are my saving grace in the kitchen.
This cheesy pizza monkey bread is quick and easy. It can be served as dinner or as an appetizer at any get-together. While the recipe calls for canned, store-bought dough, remember, you can use biscuits or homemade dough and locally sourced or home-raised ingredients in the place of what is written.
I’ve written it as a quick fix for your busy season. See the blueberry chèvre monkey bread recipe for a from-scratch dough recipe that works perfectly for monkey bread. No matter what your dough choice is, I hope you and your loved ones enjoy every cheesy bite of this one.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cans of refrigerated classic pizza dough
- 3 tablespoons melted butter (slightly cooled)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil 2 teaspoons pizza seasoning
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 cup mini pepperoni OR 1 cup pepperoni cut into quarters
- 2 cups shredded goat milk mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup goat milk feta cheese
- ½ cup pizza sauce, plus additional for dipping
Additional add-in options:
Try adding ½ cup each of your choice: Ground browned sausage, bacon bits, diced ham, banana peppers, mushrooms, diced bell peppers, sun-dried tomatoes. Be sure to add an additional tablespoon of melted butter if adding extras.
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease your bundt pan.
- In a small bowl, melt butter. Once melted, add olive oil, pizza seasoning, and garlic. Stir to blend well.
- Cut dough into 1 to 1½-inch pieces.
- In a large bowl, gently toss dough pieces, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, feta cheese, and butter mixture until well-combined. If using any add-ins such as sausage or peppers, add them simultaneously to ensure they incorporate into the mixture.
- Pour half of the mixture into your bunt pan. Evenly drizzle or spoon in ½ cup pizza sauce. Pour the remaining half of the dough mixture on top.
- Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Check at 20 minutes. Cover with foil to prevent the top from burning if a golden brown color is achieved.
Allow cheesy pizza monkey bread to cool for 10 minutes before you remove it from the bundt pan. Serve warm with warmed pizza sauce or warmed cheese sauce for dipping!
