Goat Cheese Alfredo Sauce

Goat Cheese Alfredo Sauce

Reading Time: 2 minutes

A simple, easy, homemade goat cheese alfredo sauce that’s so creamy and delicious, it will have your family asking for more.

-by Hannah McClure Did y’all know that, generally, goat milk has more cream in their milk than cow milk? One cup of cow milk has about 8g of fat, while goat milk has 10-12g of fat, depending on the goat breed. Unlike cows, the fat particles of goat milk are much smaller, causing them to stay suspended in the milk and giving the illusion to many that goat milk is leaner. Because of this, you need to purchase a cream separator to pull aside the heavy cream of goat milk.

More than One Way to Make a Sauce

There are two ways you can go about making this recipe. The first way is to use goat milk as is and slow simmer it to reduce the liquid for a thicker sauce. The second way is by using heavy cream (either store-bought or fresh from your goat’s milk using a cream separator as mentioned). Either way you choose, nothing compares to homemade alfredo sauce. It’s creamy and rich in flavor. Not to mention you control the ingredients and nutrients when you make it from scratch.

While some folks can’t always cook and bake 100% from scratch, alfredo sauce is one of the easier ingredients to make. I always have a jar or two of store-bought on hand for those super busy days when it’s a rush to get dinner on the table because time got away from me. But in general, I try to factor in enough time to make my own alfredo because of how simple it truly is. So, whether you are new to learning from scratch recipes or a seasoned vet, I sure hope you enjoy this alfredo recipe.
